Palette Stories

I capture images of mundane moments that, because of their distinct and vivid color, feel suddenly significant. There is a connection between the raw realities of my subject matter and the ethereal feeling of the lights, shadows, and colors hidden within. The two ideas should clash but instead they coexist. They are bonded together. Each of these pictures is an individual story, a normal moment illuminated by the dreamlike world around them. The series was shot shortly before Sri Lanka was hit by the biggest economic crisis in the country's history.
