An autobiographical project dealing with the total destruction of my town of birth in WWII before I was born and how that massively influenced my life and my art.
For this chapter (of the planned book) named "Lua Mater" I photographed Berlin WWII debris which I dug out over the years at a special place. I used to go swimming there in summer nearby, looking for mushrooms in the fall. Chance made me discover this place. A place on the southern outskirts of Berlin filled with what the Trümmerfrauen couldn't use after 1945. One of Berlin’s many Sore Spots.
At Trieste Photo Days 2021 the editorial project „Mythography“ was published. I am proud that 11 photos of this series were chosen and published together with some of the best photojournalists among them Francesco Cito, Ron Haviv and Giles Clarke.
