Non-Places

This series originated between 2016 – 2022. Apart from one exception, all the locations are within a 30-kilometre distance from the place I live. They are so familiar! I even pass by some of them every day. They are not popular tourist destinations - they may appear mundane, not interesting, or plain. Not to me. Capturing beauty is far from my intention as I seek the spirit of anything I decide to shoot. I am fascinated with the changing nature of the spirit – the way I perceive it depends on my mood, time of the day, the season of the year etc. Thus, I still can find the places I have been to hundreds of times, new, and exciting in the same way I was smitten by the location I had seen for the first time. They are all ‘non-places’, their existence is solid and fluid at the same time.
