General Entry - Emerging Talent Awards

The old Republic project was part of a pilgrimage of sorts for me. The journey took me to the rugged alien terrain of central Tunisia which was used for the first Star Wars films and it didn't take long for me to realise why. The film sets were very well preserved although some restoration work was done on the original Skywalker home. walking around these places which are very remote in themselves, I actually felt like I was there on the run from the stormtroopers. The locations are difficult to find and I went there armed with printed maps and scribbled directions as I knew that sat-nav would be useless. The images are processed in the way that I remember seeing the original films, with an old, dusty and nostalgic feel to them.
