Bairro do Mocho (Owl's slum)

Bairro do Mocho A problematic slum on the outskirts of Lisbon. The Town Hall of Loures invited various artists to paint the buildings and promote artistic events. The goal was to change the scars and stigma of this neighbourhood. Alas, Art changing the world! With this initiative, a public art gallery was created and it has functioned as a means to integrate Bairro do Mocho (Owl’s suburb) in its vicinities and is thus contributing to a sound improvement of the life of the neighbourhood, that can now be visited. The inhabitants are taking this opportunity to fix the buildings, recover public spaces and make a fresh start.
