Call and Response

The images here were created collaboratively by The Blue Hour, an informal group of three women photographers at different stages of life, with different cultural backgrounds, who are currently exploring time -seasons, transitions, hours of the day, the arc of life. Living in different cities, we work together virtually to create visual conversations through the concept of a triptych. Each triptych starts with a “prompt” photo, to which the others respond, so that the final story has one photo from each of us. Any of the photos may evolve as we consider the responses together and work with sequences. This process of “call and response” continues until all three of us agree that the story has been found.
