Dead Name

A photographic story showing the basic stages of what a transgender man thinks and feels during his discovery of his true gender and identity. The images were not retouched. They were, however “solarized” using Adobe Lightroom. Global editing on this software allowed for me to keep the background consistent, like a movie, it shows the model move (his state of being) while the background (his world) stayed in place. I chose to use this 'solar' technique because it highlights his acne scars from the testosterone shots as well as his top surgery scars and the nipple damage.
