The Next Generation

Every fall, the Common Ground Fair celebrates and showcases Maine's farming and agricultural practices. People come out of the woodwork to witness demonstrations and learn from locals who have passed down trades for many generations. Throughout the action packed weekend, the excitement of the youth is the strongest presence. Children of families working at the fair skip with confidence in claiming their own responsibilities in their trades. Visiting children watch, learn from, and talk to their friends on the other sides of stable fences. Independence and curiosity is visibly blooming, and it gives immense hope for the next generation.
