In this series I was exploring on how best to capture the magical and sometime dizzying effect of how amusement parks are to experience. In my journey I chose two amusement parks. One, a small three day carnival in Agoura Hills, California and the other, the mammoth permanent park on Santa Monica Pier, California. By using a tripod and performing different techniques with long exposures I felt gave the scenes an energy in this festive landscape. It was a trial and error process as I was dealing with crowds, moving objects and sometimes severe light changes but it was great fun. And what are amusement parks meant for but to have exactly that experience to escape to.
