The sense of belonging and the defense of the territory have always been the cause of events that have marked the history of humanity. From the latest demographic surveys in the Vesuvius area, one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, almost two million people live. Despite the many eruptions, understanding why the Vesuvian people continue to inhabit these places means immersing oneself in an irrational spirituality. The many eruptions that have occurred over the centuries have led populations to venerate religious figures to ask for protection, hence places of worship in all Vesuvian villages and many religious festivals. In these countries, traditional festivals are renewed every year with great collective and emotional participation, so deeply rooted and of anthropological significance that they are recognized as intangible cultural heritage of humanity according to UNESCO. Traditional music is the glue to all this. Vesuvius is inextricably linked to Pompeii and Herculaneum, but even in the eighteenth century the Bourbons built hundreds of beautiful villas. Today this area is known as the Golden Mile. Vesuvius was already linked to the figure of Bacchus in Roman times and today, as then, the production of wine is among the most popular in the world, as well as tomatoes, apricots, walnuts and many other products with unique peculiar qualities. Peculiarity of a people who choose to stay next to their sleeping giant, the one who protects them and frees them from evil.
