In my project Essentia.Trans Limine I actualize the image of a female
portrait as a form of beauty, as an absolute aesthetic ideal. Each work is not
so much a critical discourse against standardization and consumer demand
in the advertising industry as a clear and reasoned dialogue with a long
story about rethinking true female beauty.
There is a kind of unprotected connection between the viewer and the
portrait. Closed eyes, graceful poses, contrapost, a feeling of sigh and
airness, defenselessness, inviolability and vulnerability, which are the
traditional qualities of the female principle, give a reference to the Western
European cultural code associated with the biblical image of the Blessed
Virgin, as in the image "Madonna."
In my work, I ask questions about the essence of man (Essentia), about his
ability to think, which is the main topic of my research.
According to the French philosopher Blaise Pascal, the dignity of man in
his ability to think. Only thought elevates us, not the space and time in
which we are nothing.
Trans Limine (lat.) - beyond the threshold. This is a state when a person
immerses himself in thoughts, reads them and comprehends them. I am
fascinated by the very thought and the sacrament of its creation, which
arises in a state of complete detachment, calm and harmony. State
"between." Between the past and the future, between before and after,
between everything and nothing.
