The photograph shows a pre-war tribune at the horse racing track in Partynice, Wrocław (Poland). We took this photo together with my wife in January 2012 with a large format camera on a 4x5 inch negative. It was a late winter evening, the temperature dropped to 20 degrees below zero. The air was unusually clear, and the lack of snow heightened the light contrasts. The exposure time was 15 minutes. To this day, we remember how cold we were then, standing alone on the turret by the track. Operating a large-format camera also requires precision and working without gloves... Half a year later, I made three contact prints from this negative in the darkroom of my friend, Bogdan Konopka in Paris, closing this photograph into a mini series.
