“Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints”: this is the first and most important rule that unites photographers who are dedicated to Urban Exploration, the exploration of buildings and structures built by man, now abandoned, in search of traces of the past. Camera adventurers, attracted by the charm that these places emanate and moved by the desire to revive the stories of those who lived in these places. What unites the members of the UrbEx "community" is respect for a label, a code of conduct designed to protect abandoned places. Yet, it is this same label that prevents UrbEx from revealing the coordinates of structures and buildings, to prevent the latter from being stormed by the general public. Therefore, an aura of mystery and secrecy surrounds the "urban explorers", giving their images a fascinating and enigmatic aura
