The trees along the Seine, near the Pont des Arts and along the "Port du Louvre", are silver poplars. Around tourist sites, visitors often like to leave a souvenir of their passage, either padlocks hung on the gates of urban furniture, or inscriptions on the bark-skin of trees, as if to mark a moment.
In this series, there is the idea of the trace of the written word, and of the tree which is itself also a line to the sky. These superimposed traces of time are reminiscent, with their almost indecipherable writings, of the walls of Egyptian temples filled with hieroglyphics. It seems that the trees speak, leave messages, wishes, or evoke a memory.
The photographs, traces and marks of moments, like to document them. Through the use of the camera and black and white, they reproduce these disappearing writings in detailed engravings. We can then imagine the multiple dialogues of the walkers of the waterfront, as many witnesses of a common memory.
