Not your normal knight out series

The knight in shining armour is an icon, but generally portrayed in the same manner. The series is a light hearted poke at the stereotype, with different ages (18-71), genders, nationalities (5) and ethnicities. The series was shot in several sessions in London and utilises hand painted backdrops and selective strobe backlighting or very indirect illumination for a more timeless appearance. Elements of chiaroscuro play against the hand painted backdrops. The harsh, cold metal (really cold in December) contrast with the models. Of course, the armour is genuine and supplied by a leading armoury in the UK. The sitters certainly had fun, and out shots with them reading the newspaper are delightful. One model is studying dance, and we discovered why there are no images of dancing knights. The gentlemen with the lute is a professional concert lutenist and played during shooting: his first heavy metal performance.
