My photo project VISIONS IN RED started with me seeing but not really looking at or thinking about the plants in my environment. Very often we are in a kind of auto-pilot mode, in which we are not particularly open but rather functioning. We are sticking to a certain 'dimension'.
So, we have to consciously discover the magic in everyday life, learn to be amazed again. But what makes us mindful, i.e., aware of ourselves, and our perception?
I avoid clues that help to make quick assumptions. By means of irritating visual stimuli I try to delay the viewer´s visual recognition and therewith challenge him to look more consciously at the object, and engage with the object.
I took macro shots of objects from my living environment and colored them in the compliment color of GREEN - in RED. This explains part of my project title VISIONS IN RED. The term vision means appearance, revelation, dream, (optical) illusion, hallucination, something that does not exist.
