Menstruation it is natural biological cycle of many bodies, however, in a society of oppression, prejudice, misogyny and gender stereotypes, the conversation around periods is suppressed and a taboo. The topic is surrounded by discrimination, humiliation, myths, misconceptions and misinformation that harms bodies, and minds, putting the lives of many people around the world at risk. It is a human right and not addressing it properly harms many people's mental and physical health. In different parts of the world and cultures, different stigma surrounds the topic and different needs and actions are needed to improve the safety of people. However, everywhere there is a need to change the mindset around the period, removing the shame and normalising the subject.
