I was raped. In an alley, at dusk, by a man I’d eaten curry with an hour before. These prints are spiteful, a commemoration of a horrifying experience. I’ve overcome my shock with a catharsis of wrecking something precious, taking something often beautifully sterile - darkroom prints and negatives - and burning, scratching, stomping, ripping. I aim to display my anguish, my pain, but also create something objectively difficult to look at. The image size aims to create a feeling of time and memory through postcard-like prints, a tokenized version of a story from the past.
