Selection of some artworks from my series Hands/Language/Work
From an Anatomy lesson:
The use and gestures of hands are a language. Darwin said that without hands, the human being it would never attain its predominant place in society. The language of the hands has always had a particular meaning in the Art history. Suffice it to look at the paintings. The human being with the hands have always made masterpieces, in all fields, art, music, crafts. But the amazing thing is that are the expression of a language. The hands tell stories, thoughts, emotions. With our hands we communicate immediately what is happening to us. Often the unspoken words are replaced by gestures (The fine art of the gestures). It is not just an "almost" obsession of mine. It's a very long story born with the birth of the human being.
The series "Hands / Language / Work" was born cause I like to portray and draw hands, and I love their language. Passion that I have since I was in art school and for a book of "Anatomy for artists" in particular, where were explained very well. Many photos of this series were taken in multiple exposure. The red photo composition has been included in " Featured photography collection" on Saatchi Art
