An emotional and personal journey
through psychosis
My motivation to create a series about psychosis comes from an unfulfilled yearning to understand my grandmother's struggle with this elusive condition. The absence of conversations with her, who has since passed away, creates a desire to understand and visually portray the uncharted territories of psychosis. The series becomes a way of seeking a connection with the past, while also shedding light on an often misunderstood part of human existence.
Through my lens, I aim to portray surreal landscapes of the mind. Vivid colors collide with monochromes, representing the sharp contrasts between the real and the imagined.
Each photograph serves as a poetic testament to the complexities of psychosis, capturing moments of lucidity alongside the brief grasp on reality. In these still frames and staged photographs, I show distorted perspectives and disorienting patterns, mirroring the internal confusion faced by those experiencing psychosis.
This series is a work in progress.
