His artistic cote develops on the theme of monozygotic twins and the profound meaning of their relationship that is established from the first years of life. She is fascinated by the phenomenon of doubles and their otherness and at the same time dismayed by their uniqueness. The description that accompanies each photo expresses the identity hidden in the twins beyond time and space, compensating each other. Francesca Ardito underlines the primary importance of establishing a dialogue with them and listening to the story of their life experience together. This means that a mutual trust is established which allows her to use the photographic medium with the aim of creating a singular story and highlighting the most salient aspects that belong to the formation of her own personality. But it must be emphasized that if the genetic heritage (which they have in common) is responsible for their development of personality, the shared environment, the family, etc. is it similar? The answer is no because after some experiments of separation of twins at birth it was found that some of their personality traits were not very different from those who grew up together. Thanks to this discovery made by behavioral geneticists, it can be said that it is the individual experiences that each person has, such as the education he receives, the friendships he makes, the order of birth - or the non-shared environment - that explain the difference of character attributable to non-genetic factors. The determination in the 360° knowledge of the relationship between monozygotic twins, coming from different countries, has led Francesca Ardito to a research that has lasted for more than ten years. To fully understand the twin pair, she has read various texts by researchers in various disciplines from bio-medical science to psychology. Not forgetting, however, also those of philosophy and the figurative arts. What struck her most about the twin couple is the fact that each twin has to relate to his own double at times with unexplained phenomena that concern the immaterial spheres of perception and even much beyond. Her photographic narration takes on mostly introspective and serious but also ironic "tones". In the post-covid period, the photographer expands her knowledge of monozygotic twins in other cultures of the world. Through the "socials" she establishes new friendships with twins belonging to very poor and difficult realities such as those of the African continent and India. The state with which she has the most contact is Nigeria, which has the highest rate of twin births in the world. It goes further in the Ivory Coast and French Guinea. It has currently established more than 3000 contacts. The latter have turned into deep friendships that have pushed her to go beyond a simple acquaintance. You have conducted in-depth studies on scientific texts such as: “Twins in African and Diaspora Cultures” to fully understand the conception of twins, in the most widespread tribes in Nigeria the "Yoruba" and the "Igbo". Her greatest desire is to reach them to understand how the phenomenon of identical twins can be tinged with mysterious existential plots and become increasingly complex and attractive. Her main purpose has always been to rearrange the stories of twins of different ethnicities and ages in a photographic and narrative book. Francesca in 2012 obtained the second place of the jury in the national competition "Portfolio Italia" and the first place of the public.
