Since 2020, Nicholas J R White has been collaborating with artist Garry Fabian Miller on 'Crucible' - a name assigned to the small circle of Dartmoor that has formed the bedrock of Fabian Miller's seen and imagined pictures for over three decades.
Nicholas has followed every footpath and country road, traced the hills and river valleys, walked between ancient barrows and burial cairns, and recorded the landscape across seasons and time.
The result is a collection of Large Format colour photographs, all created within an 8-mile imagined circle. A series formed from three years of repeated walks, immersion in weather and a desire to understand and respond to a landscape that holds special meaning to both himself and Fabian Miller.
These pictures were exhibited alongside Fabian Millers artworks for the first time at 'Adore' at Arnolfini Arts, Bristol UK, in 2023.
