Instrumental Documentation

The inspiration for the ”Instrumental Documentation" series comes from the struggles Coombs has due to his Autism and the inability to recognize emotions and their subtleties and textures on account of having Alexithymia. This series visually embodies aspects of what it is like for the artist to walk through public streets and the fear of making eye contact. Documentative images of the artist's battle between fear and connectivity. Hesitation, shivering, withdrawal, and half-stepping are the dance moves to the instrumental play of the camera.
