MONOZYGOTES is a photographic essay consisting of 58 years of images of my twin sister and me.
We have been geographically separated for over 40 years, she lives in Brittany and I live in Switzerland, but we have an unbreakable bond. We have ritualised our reunion in the form of a photographic project. Each of our physical encounters, between 3 and 4 times a year, is the subject of a photo session that immortalizes it and creates a visual continuum.
In the first picture, taken by our parents, we are 15 days old. As teenagers, we took our parents' Kodak Retinette to continue documenting our lives. This was followed by many cameras, film, polaroid, digital and all sorts of formats, in black and white and in colours.
