On the edge of a barangay in Cebu City, Philippines, a small community lives outside by the seashore with only the road bridges above them for shelter from the elements. Children play basketball and let off home-made fireworks, adults cook and play mahjong under a tent that also functions as a makeshift chapel hosting a wake.
