One Pool, Los Angeles

This project is on one Los Angeles pool. I photographed it for two years. I examined how reflections on water changed with the light over days and seasons. Images above are in blazing LA light, while the reflections on the water are an uncertain subterranean place, a fantasy world of abstractions. They are ephemeral. They are mysterious and dislocating. They are in vibrant rainbows of LA color. Throughout, there is a thread of lush sensuality, of beauty, of pleasure. The location for this series is LA specific. The experience of this project is illusion, is symbolic of LA.
