The ten images I am submitting are from my Fairy Tale Dreams project, which I have been running since 2019 and has various stages of development.
Iryna's images No. 1 and No. 10 form the pictorial framework of my submission as current developments.
The project idea arose during my photographic work with second hand fashion. In the spirit of sustainability and upcycling, I wanted to inspire my viewers with the idea of recombining and wearing existing fashion instead of fast fashion. Not just to let the raw materials gather dust carelessly in the wardrobe, but to give them a new "heyday" through new combination ideas.
But somehow I wanted more. To create other photographic worlds. I became enthusiastic about the great fashion designers and their works.
Now I am not a fashion designer, just a visual artist and photographer. But I wanted more. I was fascinated by the works of Alexander Mc Queen, the photographs of Tim Walker and Paolo Roversi.
When I was standing in front of a wedding dress in a second-hand shop, the idea came to me. To "tear" wedding dresses out of their oblivion and bring them into a new form through dyeing, tearing and re-creation.
This gave me the opportunity to create such "fairytale pompous worlds" as I imagined.
I found actresses who were enthusiastic about the project and the hard work. They also added another aspect. romantic expressive elements.
