Pantanal Matogrossense is one of the largest agricultural areas in the world with a very rich bioma and the largest wetlands areas in the world.
With a very strong Cowboy culture, every year, in June, after the rain season stops, they celebrate their traditions and with different cowboys contests and presentations. I spend 10 days documenting their works and lives. We transported cows over enormous distances, from one farm to another, in journeys that took up to 12 hours. I participated in the training for the horse's competitions and in all the preparations for the festivities.
During this time, I choose a day where there were people coming from all over the State, to develop this portrait series. Some of the people I documented, once they news I was creating this serie, they went to invite their wifes or sons to take a family portrait over their own horses.
