Infinite Rehearsal is a series of allegorical portraits and staged situations. It is a collaboration between the photographer and professional performers, reinterpreting personal experiences in the privacy of the studio space.
The events depicted in the photographs remain elusive and ambiguous. The focus lies on the nonverbal relationships between the figures and the tension that develops within their interactions. Impoverished communication mediated through phones and post-it notes is contradicted by gestures and body proximities. Intimacy and togetherness are challenged by dense remoteness and individualism.
The dynamics between the participants raise questions about the state of human connectedness in our technology-driven societies. While together in the studio, the roles of the photographer, narrator and performer alternate, in an attempt to merge the personal with the collective.
