In my photography work I love exploring the themes of loneliness, isolation and/or alienation. These feelings strongly resonate with me because of my adoption, which has created a disoriented sense of identity and a vague meaning of the word "home". Over time, it has become an internal struggle (from time to time) but also a deep fascination to dig deeper into these themes.
I love capturing people who seem lost in space or time. Esthetically I'm drawn to clear shapes and lines, as well as negative spaces and pitch blackness. I feel these elements help me in my pursuit to portray the spectrum of feelings mentioned above. The total darkness in my frames is also there as a personal reminder that there's still a lot to discover in these ambiguous emotions.
