What makes a city stand out and become famous, while others fade into obscurity and are forgotten? Is it the architecture, the natural surroundings, or the cultural and historical significance that a city holds and still pervades every single street, stone, wall, and tree? This photographic series captures the magic and spirituality of the holy city of Jerusalem, where the three main monotheistic religions meet and intersect in a daily routine marked by prayers and ancient rituals. The photos showcase the enchantment of the old city, surrounded by millenary walls and dominated by the famous Temple Mount complex, which includes the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Western Wall, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The details of the photographs show the vibrancy of daily life in the city, where Orthodox Jews pray at the Western Wall, Christians kneel on the stone where Jesus was crucified, and Muslims pray on the platform of Al-Aqsa. The photos were taken in different lighting conditions and in different parts of the city, showcasing the unique atmosphere that can be felt in Jerusalem, the Holy City.
