The American Desert is for me the solitude and dramatically shifting open spaces. Every time I come away, the images and scents, the sounds of the wind in desert grasses and sands, all call me back again, as though I can embrace the deserts' emptiness into my soul. The early natives adopted this both welcoming and forgiving land, thriving in a most spiritual world that was without end and foreboding. The eternal desert makes itself known through all God's creatures which call it home.
