Sweat
Project info

'Sweat' consists of a number of unique, cameraless photographs made using a chemical reaction that takes place when sweat comes into contact with gelatin silver paper. The images act as a document of the performance of their creation, capturing a process of repetition but never producing the same result.

By removing the camera from the image making process, as well as much of the artist’s ability to control the output, the images present a more direct, less mediated approach to portraiture as well as address the issues of reproducibility and identity associated with the photograph.
