Chicago has more alleys than any other city in the United States--1900+ miles of them in fact. Growing up here, they were an enormous free playground. As I began working as an artist, the constantly shifting landscape never ceased to fascinate. Four years ago, I started photographing the strange beauty found in this entropy--unexpected textures, shapes and abstractions made by scratches, graffiti-removal and the weathering of time. I am alley-shooting still--here, and abroad when I travel.
