Article 49.3 is a provision that allows the government to force the passage of a law without a vote. In March 2023, French President Macron used this constitutional regulation to force a delay in citizens' retirement. Angry young people protested against the government by setting fire to the streets. During those nights, the streets in Paris were always packed with all sorts of people: protesters, journalists, firefighters, influencers, and maybe some passers-by who had no idea what was going on.
