DISCONNECTED: NATURE, REACHING OUT

In a world where constant connectivity and rapid technological advancements dominate our lives, the concept of being "disconnected" takes on a multi-layered significance. The project title itself evokes a sense of isolation, detachment, and separation. Five untitled photographs challenge viewers to construct their own story, drawing attention to the consequences of our actions on the environment and the resulting disruption of the delicate balance that sustains life. While the seagull's presence in the city serves as an invitation to pause and appreciate the coexistence of diverse life forms in the midst of our bustling urban lives, the rhino sculpture’s aesthetic impact might attract a wider audience, including individuals who may not typically engage with environmental issues. Simultaneously, the remnants of once vibrant sea life ecosystems are metaphors for the ongoing disconnection in our technology-driven society, paralleling detachment in digital and natural realms. Just as the natural world suffers when we detach from it, so too do we suffer when we detach from meaningful human interactions with nature.
