A child is playing shows us different scenes in which one or several children are playing. But their games are strange. Hair turns into a rope. The boy's beat is a funeral knell. The girl is listening: her voice announces a presage. A terrible disaster is coming. These games aren't ours. We can't recognize them. The children scorn us. Only them can understand their games. If we get closer, they'll bite our hand. If we ask them, they'll howl. Meanwhile, the braid has been cut. If we aren't careful, they'll hang us with it.
