Stones & Water Art

Using rockbalancing as my technique, I create stone forms without using glue or other materials to harmonise them with the surrounding scene, photograph them and then print them out. There are several points that stand out, not least of which is the fact that the stones are not simply stacked with a high level of skill. The surrounding scenery, depending on the season, place and time of day, comes first, and then the stone sculpture is added to match the concept. This is the element that creates the artistic value among the many rockbalancers in the world, and it is a new and different approach. For the works [若水 / Jakusui], [竜吟 / Ryuugin] and [久遠 / Kuon], I am also working on the shaping of water. I am also working on the shaping of water. uses the river's current to create a sustained circular flow and ripples that separate on both sides, forming a foundation with stones from the river bed. I also uses long shutter speeds in my photographs to emphasise this expression. This is the first time I have succeeded in this as an expressionist working with water in the past.
