Pictures of My Mom

Pictures of My Mom is a character study. When I was a kid, I was really close to my mom. But as an adult, our relationship continues to change in ways that I don't fully understand. These pictures are meant to depict different aspects of my mother's personality as I've know her over the years and have come to know her more recently. Some aspects are familiar to me, and others not so much. Some are comforting, and others terrify me. By rephotographing old family photos, cropping in close, and enhancing the characteristics of each through post-processing, I found a way to come to terms with seeing the unfamiliar in someone you used to recognize.
