As post-socialist Mongolia continues to shape its identity in the modern world, where rapid urbanization has fundamentally altered the core identity and mentality of Mongolians who have a rich and proud history of pastoral nomadism, I witness and interpret shifts and diversities in this traditionally patriarchal Asian society where gender roles used to be rather rigid and defined.
Often a cross between fiction and documentary, abstract and surreal, the unique result interpreted by the 3D printed scanner camera is part of my ongoing experimentation with utilizing new approaches to interpret expressions and ideas in the form of imagery. The body of work intends to introduce new perspectives on Asian identity and representation.
