This project started as a personal story about my mother. Fascinated by her strength I wanted to show her ability to go through life’s difficulties and preserve her beautiful soul along the way despite all odds. After a few months I discovered my work has turned into a narrative about my family. Climbing the branches of this life tree I decided the only way to truly reveal the connections with the past is if I dived deep where all roots and beginnings starts. Only with this I could find the answers as to how they grew up, lived, developed and how they became the people they are now.
The more I discovered about how my family members' relationships were made, the more I realized it was actually a story about myself and how I see, grow and evolve among them.
As a photographic story it is still ongoing and evolving. The project digs into everything we hide from the world and the people around us - it forces the authentic emotions to emerge, it speaks about fear, pain, hardships and experiencing loneliness even when we are surrounded by those who love us.
The project is a journey in searching of love, dreams, beginnings and ends.
