When photographing nature, I often think that most people decide on their final destination in advance and go there to take pictures.
However, I don't have a definite destination in mind. This is because most of the typical landscape is already known to me and everyone.
I have a rough idea of the direction I want to go, but there are often many wonderful landscapes hidden along the way.
Nature is the only place where you can rediscover the earth.
When you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and become one with nature, for the first time you can see the earth as it is today.
Nature is always changing. And it is changing for the worse. Global warming is progressing to such an extent that Japan, which has four seasons, may eventually become a country with two seasons.
Sometimes I wonder what Japan was like in the past. What was the nature like at the foot of Mt. Fuji, or how lush were the colors of the sea in Tokyo Bay?
The reason I continue to photograph nature is to "record" the beauty of nature that still remains in Japan, and to "tell" people about the landscapes they have never seen before.
