My grandma, or "Ah Ma", as I've come to call her in endearment, has always been the toughest root in my family tree.
In her most obvious way of showing love, she made it a point to keep her children and grandchildren well-fed. But with an injury to the knee, coinciding with covid-19 restrictions at the time, her condition deteriorated as she was confined to a sofa, unable to perform her daily routine.
The first chance she was taken out for a walk, she was encouraged to push her wheelchair to recover strength in her legs. She got up, and then kept going.
Even though she was unable to cook as she would before, she channelled that energy into feeding the fish. As the pond sprung to life, so did she. And in a long time, having been able to provide food once again, she was satisfied for the day. I am glad I was part of that moment. Now it is forever.
All of these photos were shot and edited on a Google Pixel 3XL with the Snapseed app.
They were then resized in Adobe Photoshop.
