Painting with Light. This was my first efforts in the technique of combining long exposures with using specialized flashlights. Converting my garage into makeshift "studio" I used black curtains, duvetyne cloth, and cardboard to darken the space. Using my glass vases from my home I wanted them as my subject as I was interested on what the light reflections may be like. Placing my camera on a tripod with the following settings :: (Raw, ISO 100, Iris at F10, and shutter at 30 seconds). Dressed in black I used my flashlights like a paint brush to make patterns behind the vases while the shutter of the camera was open. The hardest part was trying not to trip over myself or knock over my precious vases as this was all done in complete darkness until I turned my flashlights on. I was very excited with the end result! This process of photography for me was not being a passive observer but a participant!
