From early times myths taught people how to behave themselves in this world and interact with others.
The inner world of each person is based on mythology.
The experience my ancestors gained always helps me create my characters.
Like many other women generations before me, I bear my history, stitch by stitch, thread by thread, while helping myself to find inner peace in these actions.
I unite the ancient and contemporary times under one mask.
I picture my daughter and me.
I cover my pain and fears with threads. I recreate myself piece by piece.
I hide the most valuable things behind the ancient rituals.
I place my daughter into a mystical forest; by doing that, I transfer the forest’s power to my daughter and protect her from the aggressive world.
My sawed-out forest to protect her.
I protect her with a myth I have created.
During the production of this series, I used embroidery, drew with paints, and implied the light of a lamp that highlighted the perforation on paper.
