The Forgotten Sea is the on going photography project (Since 2019) which Tom Potisit has been experimenting utilizing the Art of Shibari (Roping) which originated from Japan and a lot of people see Shibari as a taboo art. The series deliver a sense of entrapment , hopeless, choice of freedom and the invasion of human.
The Forgotten sea is the collection of what is happening to the endangered marine mammal and the oceans, he added Merman as a symbolic of the life of the oceans in this series, it has brought the Shibari Photography to the next level and breaking down the social and cultural boundaries for Shibari to become more contemporary art medium.
With Tom's photography practice for the past 11 years which he focuses on combining different type of art to deliver important global social and environmental issues. He has also been collecting the data and facts of the Endangered Marine Mammals population from his 17 years as a volunteer to conduct the flight surveys to study and capture images of the population, habits, habitat and treats to supply the data and photos to the Marine Biologists to help protecting and increase the number of population to the "safe" level.
