I focussed my lens on the crowds at gigs in London to show what is happening there.
The strong sense of community that pervades the London music scene is not just about showing up to the same gigs or recognising faces...It's a collective energy that every participant feeds into and feeds off, these gigs are intoxicated with joy and release.
I propose that this energy, found in live music, is not just beneficial but absolutely essential. It is a source of healing, a form of prayer and a nourishment to its community. One can only truly experience this by being there, specially on jam nights when no two nights are the same.
This makes it the perfect pursuit, unreachable and further mystified by my lack of talent in music. I hover around these nights with a loving eye and try to share the emotions felt, in the hope that anyone who sees these images understands the importance of the joy that they hold.
