Nonna & Nonno

This ongoing series explores themes of family, memory and the ways in which we can capture a life through art. In looking at the physical traces we leave behind, I try to identify the symbols that can represent us to others. This series has focused on my grandparents in which I have aimed to photograph key iconography that to me forms the memories I have of them - beyond a typical portrait. With my Nonno having passed in 2021, I continue to photograph my Nonna in a natural evolution of the series; documenting a new phase of her life.
