The Other Mother

The Other Mother is an intimate story that documents my life as a stepmother to my two sons and a mother to my daughter. Being a stepmother is one of the hardest roles I have taken on in my life. It requires more patience and love; selflessness and the ability too deeply connect with children that have accepted me as their other mother. The Other Mother tells the story of the view point of the other mother that may not have been there at birth but is there now. As I capture these moments between my children, I am also capturing inner emotions that I feel as I watch my house go from a family of five to a family of three. There are happy times and sad, moments of wanting to run away and hide and days when loneliness takes over. The images take you on journey that any mother could relate to.
