While enjoying photography for over 50 years I haven't dedicated myself to learning and creating images in my unique style until I turned 60. I have always been inspired by the majestic landscapes of American artists of the 19th century and in my travels I started seeing vistas with an eye toward capturing the colors, composition and atmosphere of the paintings I've always loved.
Whether others view this as art or photography matters not to me. If they are drawn to the images and appreciate the juxtaposition of paint and photo then I am satisfied.
I hope to see works from Thomas Cole, John Fredrick Kennett and Asher Brown Durand in person soon.
